WORCESTER, Mass. – School records continued to fall for the Bentley University Falcons as the Northeast-10 Conference Men's and Women's Swimming and Diving Championships continued with second-day competition Friday night at WPI's Sport and Recreation Center.

The women's team collected five medals, including two silver, and finished the night with 265 points, good for third place behind Assumption College (329.5) and Southern Connecticut State (319). The men will be in second place when action resumes Saturday morning, 66 points back of Southern Connecticut's 342.

Junior Frank Elenio (Ridgefield, N.J./Bergen County Academies) broke his own school record in the 200 yard individual medley twice en route to a second-place finish. He was the number one qualifier with a 1:55.86, 0.09 better than the mark he turned in a year ago at the same meet, and swam nearly two seconds faster in the finals, posting a 1:53.97.

Also in the 200 IM, senior Jonny Boains (Unionville, Conn./Farmington HS) was fourth with a 1:57.47.

Bentley dominated the women's 500 freestyle with three of the top five finishers. Junior Melissa Viator (Lubbock, Texas/Lubbock HS) broke a six-year-old school record by 1.72 seconds with her 5:04.30 good for second place. Classmate Brooke Jameson (Bedford/Bedford HS) followed in third and also bettered the previous standard with a 5:04.83. Fifth place went to another Falcon junior with Hannah Rauch (Orchard Park, N.Y./Orchard Park HS) finishing in 5:07.12.

Bentley also went two-three in the 200 IM with junior Kate Kaduboski (Dedham/Dedham HS) besting senior teammate Emily Niemiec (Meriden, Conn./Francis T. Maloney HS) for second. Kaduboski reached the wall in 2:05.05 to break Niemiec's school record, set last year, by 0.87 seconds, and Niemiec earned the bronze in 2:06.52. The Falcons also had the eighth-place finisher in senior Anne Warren (Ellicott City, Md./Mt. Hebron School), whose time was 2:12.08.

Bentley's final school record of the night came in the 400 medley relay with the Falcons finishing fifth in 3:29.09. Sophomore Jarod Yoshihara (Irvine, Calif./University HS) swam the opening leg and was followed by freshman Paul Homorodean (Milford, Conn./Joseph A. Moran HS), Boains and junior Ryan McGeary (Paramus, N.J./Bergen Catholic HS) as they improved on the mark set last year by a quarter of a second.

Also making trips to the podium were McGeary in the men's 500 free (4:38.49) and sophomore Caroline Logozzo (Wethersfield, Conn./Wethersfield HS) with a third in the one-meter diving (364.98). Yoshihara was fourth in the 500 free (4:42.68), and freshman Ryann Driscoll (Marblehead/Marblehead HS) was sixth in the women's one-meter (298.83).

In the men's one-meter, Bentley had three in the top six with senior Juan Quiroga (Bogota, Colombia) fourth (352.80), freshman Sean Parisi (Billerica/Catholic Central HS) fifth (230.21) and sophomore Timothy Fay (Yorktown Heights, N.Y./Yorktown Heights HS) sixth (228.33).

Senior Christopher Vukas (Randolph, N.J./Randolph HS) and sophomore Alper Alkaya (Milan, Italy) were finalists in the 50 free, placing seventh and eighth respectively. Their times were 21.59 and 21.62.

Bentley lost out on a significant number of points when the women's 400 medley relay team was disqualified.
