McGeary Helps Bentley Extend Dual Win Streak to 21 with 209-87 Victory over Keene State

WALTHAM, Mass. – Six-foot-eight junior Ryan McGeary (Paramus, N.J./Bergen Catholic HS) swam to victory in two individual events and helped the Falcons take both relays as the Bentley University men's swimming and diving team won its 21st consecutive dual meet, 209-87 over Keene State College Saturday afternoon at the Dana Center pool.

His individual wins came in the grueling 1650 yard freestyle, in which he led a 1-2-3 Falcon sweep with a 17:18.11, and the 200 breaststroke (2:17.24).

McGeary also anchored Bentley's 200 medley relay team that opened the meet with a 1:41.98 clocking. That quartet also included senior Jonny Boains (Unionville, Conn./Farmington HS) and sophomores Jarod Yoshihara (Irvine, Calif./University HS) and Sam Trozenski (Pittsburgh, Pa./Mt. Lebanon HS).

In the 200 free relay, McGeary was joined by Yoshihara, sophomore Alper Alkaya (Milan, Italy) and freshman Paul Homorodean (Milford, Conn./Joseph A. Foran HS). Their time was 1:30.51.

Senior Juan Quiroga (Bogota, Colombia) led Bentley to wins in both diving events, with scores of 211.35 from the one-meter and 199.80 from the three.

Bentley was five-for-five in winning the freestyle events. In addition to McGeary in the 1650, Alkaya took the 50 (22.34), freshman Clayton Bennice (Ballston Spa, N.Y./Ballston Spa HS) the 100 (50.55), Boains the 200 (1:48.71) and freshman Tanner Fales (Naples, Fla./Gulf Coast HS) the 500 (5:01.17).

The other winners for the Falcons were senior Chris Vukas (Randolph, N.J./Randolph HS) in the 100 back (56.64) and Yoshihara in the 200 back (1:59.90).

Bentley will take an 8-0 record to Babson College Tuesday night for its next meet.
