Bentley Stretches Dual Win Streak to 20 with 188-106 Win over Pace

WALTHAM, Mass. – Make it 20 straight dual victories for the Bentley University men's swimming and diving team!

Led by senior Jonny Boains (Unionville, Conn./Farmington HS), the Falcons improved to 7-0 this season  with a 188-106 win over Pace University Friday afternoon at the Dana Center pool.

Boains collected a pair of individual victories as he was the first to the wall in both the 100 yard freestyle (49.28) and the 200 free (1:49.00), leading the Falcons to a 1-2-3 sweep in both events. He also helped Bentley close out the meet with a victory in the 200 free relay, combining with senior Chris Vukas (Randolph, N.J./Randolph HS), junior Ryan McGeary (Paramus, N.J./Bergen Catholic HS) and sophomore Alper Alkaya (Milan, Italy) for a 1:29.21.

The other double-winners for Bentley were junior Frank Elenio (Ridgefield, N.J./Bergen County Academies) and senior Juan Quiroga (Bogota, Colombia). Elenio's first-place finishes came in the 200 butterfly, with his 1:59.49 the third best posted in the Northeast-10 Conference this season, and the 200 individual medley (2:04.72). Quiroga swept the diving while recording scores of 230.33 from the one-meter board and 187.20 from the three-meter.

Also posting victories for Bentley were McGeary in the 200 breaststroke (2:16.78), Alkaya in the 50 free (22.32), freshman Paul Homorodean (Milford, Conn./Joseph A. Foran HS) in the 100 breast (1:03.19) and sophomore Jarod Yoshihara (Irvine, Calif./University HS) in the 200 backstroke (1:57.61).

Bentley will host Keene State Saturday at 1 pm in the final home meet of the season.
