Boains Shines as Bentley Makes it 17 Straight, 191-100 over Brandeis

WALTHAM, Mass. – Bentley University senior Jonny Boains (Unionville, Conn./Farmington HS) won three individual events, all with times that rank amongst the best in the Northeast-10 Conference, as the Falcon men's swimming team swam past Brandeis University Friday night, 191-100, in a battle of crosstown rivals at the Dana Center pool.

The win pushed the Falcons to 4-0 on the season and extended their dual winning streak to 17, dating to January 2016.

Boains turned in the NE10's second fastest times of the season in winning the 200 yard freestyle (1:46.93) and the 200 individual medley (2:02.10). He also was first to the wall in the 100 free, his time of 48.99 fourth best in the conference to date.

Those three swims after he helped Bentley capture the 400 medley relay in 3:38.55, fourth best in the NE10 to date. The relay also included junior Ryan McGeary (Paramus, N.J./Bergen Catholic HS), sophomore Jarod Yoshihara (Irvine, Calif./University HS) and freshman Paul Homorodean (Milford, Conn./Joseph A. Foran HS).

Yoshihara doubled for the Falcons, as did senior diver Juan Quiroga (Bogota, Colombia). Yoshihara took both backstroke events, with times of 55.12 seconds in the 100 and 2:00.18 in the 200. Quiroga's winning scores were 211.72 from the one-meter board and 164.33 from the three-meter.

Bentley's other individual winners were Homorodean in the 100 breaststroke (1:02.31) and senior Chris Vukas (Randolph, N.J./Randolph HS) in the 50 free (22.23). Homordean's time moved him to number three on the NE10 performance list.

The next action for the Falcons is the WPI Gompei Invitational Dec. 1-3.
