Bentley Gains Men’s Relay Team of Week Honors for 2nd Straight Week

WALTHAM, Mass. – For the second time in as many weeks, the Bentley University swim program produced the Men's Relay Team of the Week.

Senior Chris Vukas (Randolph, N.J./Randolph HS), sophomore Alper Alkaya (Milan, Italy) and freshman Clayton Bennice (Ballston Spa, N.Y./Ballston Spa HS) were repeat honorees and were joined this week by junior Ryan McGeary (Paramus, N.J./Bergen Catholic HS).

With the final outcome of the meet still to be decided, they turned in the conference's fastest time of the season, 1:28.58, to secure Bentley's 15th consecutive dual victory, 159-141.

McGeary was also named to the NE10 Weekly Honor Roll, as were junior Kate Kaduboski (Dedham/Dedham HS), sophomore Daniel Sausto (Slingerlands, N.Y./Doane Stuart School) and sophomore Caroline Logozzo (Wethersfield, Conn./Wethersfield HS).

McGeary helped Bentley stretch its winning streak to 15 by placing first in the 200 freestyle (1:47.72) in addition to his work in the 200 free relay. He also swam a meet-best 21.83 closing leg in the 200 medley relay and was second in the 200 breaststroke (2:15.84). Both individual times ranked third on the NE10 performance list for the season.

Sausto took first in both distance free events against the Dolphins with times of 4:56.14 in the 500 and 10:12.37 in the 1,000.

Kaduboski and Logozzo helped the Bentley women secure a 177-111 win over Le Moyne in Sunday's meet

Kaduboski captured three individual events after helping the Falcons prevail in the 200 medley relay (1:54.41). Her winning times were 2:01.17 in the 200 yard freestyle, 2:10.96 in the 200 backstroke and 2:12.05 in the 200 individual medley, the latter the second best in the conference this season.

In two one-meter competitions at Le Moyne, Logozzo totaled a meet-best 399.05 points. She was a very close second in the five-dive event and first in the optional six-dive event.

Bentley opens its home schedule Sunday against The College of Saint Rose.
