Bridge & Wilde to Compete in NCAA Prequalification Meet in Indianapolis

WALTHAM, Mass. – Bentley University divers Colton Bridge (Tolland, Conn./Tolland HS) and Paige Wilde (Naugatuck, Conn./Holy Cross HS) will be headed to Indianapolis, Indiana next month to compete in the NCAA Division II pre-qualification meet on Tuesday, March 10 at the famed Indiana University Natatorium.

It will be Wilde's third trip to the pre-qual meet and Bridge's second. Wilde, a senior, competed in both 2012 and 2013 and Bridge, a junior, last season. Both will be looking to advance for the first time.

A total of 32 women and 29 men will be competing in the pre-qualification meet. Eighteen men and 22 women will advance to compete in the NCAA Division II Championships, which will be held over the following four days.

The top nine male and top 11 female divers on each of the two boards will automatically qualify for the championships. If there are divers who qualify on both boards, additional divers will be added to complete the field.

Wilde was named the Northeast-10 Championships Female Diver of the Meet, as well as the NE-10 Women's Diving Athlete of the Week for the eighth time this year, after she swept diving gold in the conference championships earlier in the month. Her winning scores were 404.60 from the one-meter board and 437.60 from the three-meter.

Bridge was second in the one-meter championship for the second straight year, posting a 414.40, and took fourth in the three-meter, just missing out on a fourth trip to the awards podium in two years. Bridge has been the NE-10 Men's Diving Athlete of the Week a dozen times during his career, including four times this season.

This is the fifth straight year that at least two Bentley divers have reached the NCAA pre-qualification meet.
