Bridge & Wilde Again Earn NE-10 Diver of the Week Honors; Falcons’ 400 Medley Relay Also Honored

WALTHAM, Mass. – In what has become a regular occurrence, Bentley University's Colton Bridge (Tolland, Conn./Tolland HS) and Paige Wilde (Naugatuck, Conn./Holy Cross HS) have been cited as the Diving Athletes of the Week in the Northeast-10 Conference.

Bridge, a senior, was recognized for the fourth time in the last five reports and the 12th time in his career. It's the fifth accolade of the season for Wilde and the sixth of her career.

Bentley also had the Men's Relay Team of the Week with senior Janco Cornelius (Brookfield, Conn./Brookfield HS) combining with sophomore Colin McCarthy (Glastonbury, Conn./Northwest Catholic HS) and juniors Sebastian Bury (Bellevue, Wash./Newport Senior HS) and Tim Connolly (Dorchester/Boston Latin Acad.) for a time of 3:46.29 in the 400 medley relay at St. Michael's Wednesday. That winning time was good for seventh on the season's NE-10 performance list.

Bridge swept the diving events for the seventh and eighth consecutive meets as the Falcons split a pair of matches. He helped Bentley sweep St. Michael's on the road with one-meter scores of 166.04 and 240.90. Against Keene State, Bridge posted winning scores of 267.75 from the one-meter board and 274.57 from the three-meter.

Wilde captured three of four diving events during a 1-1 week, including winning scores of 234.44 (one meter) and 268.19 (three meter) against Keene State. At St. Michael's, she was first in the second competition (223.95) after placing second in the first (160.65).

The Northeast-10 Weekly Honor Roll included Bentley sophomore Dennis Witol (Bowie, Md./ Eleanor Roosevelt HS). In a win at St. Michael's, he finished first in the 1650 yard freestyle (18:05.34), placed second in a close race in the 200 breaststroke (2:24.39) and helped the Falcons take the 200 free relay in 1:32.94. Against a strong Keene State team, he was second in the 200 breast (2:25.15), third in the 200 individual medley (2:07.98), fifth in the 100 breast (1:07.99) and part of a 200 medley relay that finished seventh (1:47.87).

Bentley returns to action Tuesday against Babson College.
