Bury & Bridge Top Performers for Bentley Men during Day 1 of Northeast-10 Championships

NEW HAVEN, Conn. – Sebastian Bury (Bellevue, Wash./Newport Senior HS) and Colton Bridge (Tolland, Conn./Tolland HS), a pair of freshmen, were the top performers for the Bentley University men's swimming and diving team during day one of the 2013 Northeast-10 Conference Championships Thursday at Southern Connecticut State University's Hutchison Natatorium.

Bridge had Bentley's highest individual finish, taking third in the three-meter diving with 361.05 points.

Bury broke the school record in the 50 yard freestyle, lowering the standard five-hundredths of a second to 21.56 seconds while placing fourth in the event.

Bury was also part of two Falcon relays, helping the 200 free take fourth in 1:26.79 and the 400 medley claim bronze in 3:31.88. The former also included freshman Nick Toselli (Barrington, R.I./Barrington HS), senior Mike Simoneau (Wheaton, Ill./Wheaton Warrenville South HS) and junior Steve Sylvia (Westerly, R.I./Westerly HS), the former standard-bearer in the 50. The medley relay also included sophomore Connor Mulvey-Hudson (Ardmore, Pa./St. Joseph Prep) and freshmen Alex Liulakis (Tenafly, N.J./Tenafly HS) and Tim Connolly (Dorchester, Mass./Boston Latin Academy).

Other highlights from day one included junior Peter Belanger (Andover, Mass./Andover HS) placing fifth in the 500 free (4:51.68) and senior Tyler Champagne (Orange, Conn./Amity Regional HS) taking sixth in the 200 individual medley.

Bentley, with 188 points, stands in second place in the seven-team, three-day meet, 76 back of defending champion Southern Connecticut.
