Bentley Ends Semester Break with 157-109 Win at St. Michael’s

COLCHESTER, Vt. – Junior Steve Sylvia (Westerly, R.I./Westerly HS), sophomore Connor Mulvey-Hudson (Ardmore,Pa./St. Joseph's Prep) and freshman Tim Connolly (Dorchester, Mass./Boston Latin Acad.) helped Bentley University capture the meet-opening 400 yard medley relay and each also won two individual events as the Falcon men's swimming team returned from a month-long semester break to win at St. Michael's College, 157-109, Wednesday afternoon at the Tarrant Recreation Center.

The above three partnered with freshman Alex Liulakis (Tenafly, N.J./Tenafly HS) for a winning time of 3:49.21 in the relay, claiming the event by 7.76 seconds.

Connolly prevailed in the two backstroke events, with times of 57.31 seconds in the 100 and 2:06.97 in the 200. The breaststroke belonged to Mulvey-Hudson, with clockings of 1:06.01 in the 100 and 2:26.98 in the 200, and Sylvia registered wins in the 50 freestyle (22.64) and 100 free (51.31).

Bentley's other individual winners were senior Tyler Champagne (Orange, Conn./Amity Regional HS) in the 500 free (5:06.78), senior Mike Culkin (Avon, Conn./Avon HS) in the 100 butterfly (59.30), freshman Colton Bridge (Tolland, Conn./Tolland HS) in the one-meter diving (150.85) and freshman Owen Karl (Rochester, N.Y./Brighton HS) in the 200 freestyle (1:54.92).

The win boosted the Falcons to 6-0 heading into Sunday's meet in Albany, N.Y. at the College of the Saint Rose.
