Freshman Sebastian Bury (Bellevue, Wash./Newport Senior HS) collected Bentley University’s only gold medal of the meet with his performance during the three-day meet helping the Falcons place second in the 2013 Northeast-10 Conference Men’s Swimming and Diving Championships which concluded Saturday night at Southern Connecticut State’s Hutchison Natatorium.

Freshman diver Nicola Mancini (Falmouth, Maine/Falmouth HS) topped a list of 11 members of the Bentley University swimming and diving team who were cited for the team’s performance in last week’s sweep of Bridgewater State University. Mancini was recognized as the NE-10 Women’s Rookie of the Week for the fifth time, including the fourth time in January, and also was selected for her fourth Women’s Diving Athlete of the Week award. Classmates Colton Bridge (Tolland, Conn./Tolland HS) and Owen Karl (Rochester, N.Y./Brighton HS) were also honored with Bridge the NE-10 Men’s Diving Athlete of the Week for the third time and Karl and NE-10 Men’s Rookie of the Week for the first.

On a night that the Bentley University seniors were being recognized, Falcon freshmen won nine of 14 individual events to power the men’s swimming team to a 145-128 victory over Bridgewater State Tuesday at the Dana Center pool.

Keene State College captured all 16 events en route to a 182-94 win over host Bentley University in men’s swimming and diving action Saturday afternoon at the Dana Center pool. The loss was the Falcons’ third straight after six consecutive wins to open the season.

Junior Steve Sylvia (Westerly, R.I./Westerly HS), sophomore Connor Mulvey-Hudson (Ardmore,Pa./St. Joseph’s Prep) and freshman Tim Connolly (Dorchester, Mass./Boston Latin Acad.) helped Bentley University capture the meet-opening 400 yard medley relay and each also won two individual events as the Falcon men’s swimming team returned from a month-long semester break to win at St. Michael’s College, 157-109, Wednesday afternoon at the Tarrant Recreation Center.
