WALTHAM, Mass. – Senior diver Mike Walsh (South Salem, N.Y./John Jay HS) and freshman freestyler Nadine Edwards (Danbury, Conn./Danbury HS) were recognized by the Northeast-10 Conference Monday following record-breaking performances on Saturday.

Walsh was named the NE-10 Men's Diver of the Week for the eighth time this season, and 17th time in his career, and Edwards was selected as the NE-10 Women's Freshman of the Week.

 Walsh set a school record while winning the one-meter diving in a dual meet with Keene State, his 295.65 bettering the former standard by 0.22 points. In addition, he also was victorious in the three-meter against Keene with a score of 249.90. Earlier in the week, against Babson, he was first off the one-meter board (256.45) and second in the three-meter (241.30).

Edwards broke the school record in the 500 yard freestyle while finishing third in the event against Keene, with her time of 5:18.33 improving on the existing record by 0.45 seconds. Also against a strong Keene team that snapped Bentley's 18-meet winning streak, she was second in both the 1000 (11:02.93) and the 100 free (56.41), and a member of Falcons' 400 free relay team that was a close second in 3:44.97. Against Babson, Edwards was first to the wall in both the 1000 (10:52.30) and the 100 free (55.96), and helped Bentley win the 200 free relay (1:44.16).

Also recognized for their performances last week, with selection to the NE-10 Weekly Honor Roll were junior All-America Jessica Hodsdon (Brewer, Maine/Brewer HS) and senior Patrick Ryan (Sudbury/Lincoln-Sudbury Reg. HS).

During a 1-1 week, Hodsdon won three of five individual races and participated on a winning relay. Against Babson, she finished first in both the 50 free (25.52) and the 100 breast (1:09.40) after helping Bentley take the 400 medley relay in 4:08.98.  In the Keene State meet, she was first in the 100 breast (1:08.36), second in the 100 fly (1:00.34) and third in the 200 individual medley (2:20.18). In addition, she was also part of Falcons' 200 medley relay team that was second in 1:54.86.

Ryan was first to the wall in the 100 yard backstroke against Babson, finishing in 57.83 seconds, and also helped Bentley's B relay to a third in the 400 medley (350.57). Against Keene State in a loss, he was second in the 100 backstroke (57.23), third in the 200 back (2:07.20), and part of two relays that finished fourth.

Bentley completes the dual portion of the schedule Tuesday at Bridgewater State.
