WALTHAM, Mass. – Bentley University senior Mike Walsh (South Salem, N.Y./John Jay HS) and freshman Paige Wilde (Naugatuck, Conn./Holy Cross HS) have been named the Men's and Women's Diving Athletes of the Week in the Northeast-10 Conference after both qualified for the NCAA Division II Pre-Qualifying Meet during a dual meet with Gordon College Nov. 9.

Wilde was also recognized as the Women's Rookie of the Week, and teammate Janco Cornelius (Brookfield, Conn./Brookfield HS) was the selection for Men's Rookie of the Week.

Walsh, the Men's Diving Athlete of the Week for the third straight week and 12th time in his career, broke his own school record for 11 dives off the one-meter board. He registered a 190.50 in the five-dive voluntary, and a 263.09 in the six-dive optional.

Wilde, who like Walsh was competing without opposition, qualified with a score of 403.19. She posted a 162.45 for five dives voluntary and 240.74 for six dives optional.

Both Walsh and Wilde will compete in March in Mansfield, Texas for the right to compete in the NCAA Division II Championships.

Cornelius was victorious in the 100 yard breaststroke during a 164-70 win over Gordon, posting a time of 105.10. He also participated in the Falcons' winning 200 medley relay (1:41.47) and swam an opening 24.05 leg in the 200 free relay, with Bentley placing fourth (1:42.53).

Bentley, 3-0, will be at home Saturday for a 5 pm meet against St. Michael's College.
