Chan, Go Lead Bentley to Wins over Norwich and Regis

NORTHFIELD, Vt. -- Sophomore George Go (Manila, Philippines) and freshman Philip Chan (Wilmette, Ill./New Trier HS) each won three individual events as the Bentley University men's swimming and diving team completed its first semester schedule by registering wins over both Norwich University and Regis College Saturday afternoon at Norwich.

Bentley, which doesn't return to action until a dual meet at St. Michael's Jan. 13, pushed its record to 5-0 by defeating Norwich, 52-34, and Regis, 73-6.

Chan took both breaststroke events, with times of 29.13 in the 50 yard and 1:05.35, and also swam to victory in the 100 individual medley (58.96). He was also a member of the Falcons' winning 200 free relay team, which finished in 1:33.31.

Go recorded his first-place finishes in the 50 backstroke (26.45), the 100 back (56.83) and the 50 butterfly (25.38).

Freshman Steve Sylvia (Westerly, R.I./Westerly HS) claimed victory in both the 50 and 100 freestyle events, with times of 22.46 and 49.74, respectively. He also swam anchor on the winning 200 free relay team.

Also posting winning efforts for the Falcons were sophomore Tyler Champagne (Orange, Conn./ Amity Regional HS) in the 1000 free (10:49.18), senior Chris Horan (Hanover, Mass./Boston College HS) in the 200 free (1:53.06) and senior Egen Ouellette (West Hartford, Conn./Conard HS) in the 500 free (5:13.64).
