Stewart, Mote and Marshall Named to NE10 All-Conference Teams
Waltham, Mass. – Julian Stewart (Acton, Mass./Acton-Boxborough), Connor Mote (Lisle, Ill./Benet) and Hunter Marshall (Harwinton, Conn./Avon Old Farms) from the Bentley men's soccer team were each named to NE10 All-Conference teams on Monday.
Stewart, a senior forward, was voted first team All-Conference. Mote was voted to the second team at midfield and Marshall to the third team at defense.
Stewart is an All-Conference selection for the second time in his career after he was a second team selection in 2017. As with that season, Stewart is again one of the leading goal scorers in the NE10 in 2019. His tally of eight is tied for 6th in the conference, and his 18 points is tied for 8th.
Steward had a run of five straight games with a goal scored from Oct. 5-Oct. 23 where he scored six total. That included one goal and one assist in a 2-1 victory over Le Moyne on Oct. 5, and three straight games where he scored the winning goal in Bentley victories; 1-0 over Stonehill on Oct. 9, 2-1 at Saint Michael's in overtime on Oct. 12 and 2-1 over Franklin Pierce on Oct. 19.
He is the first Bentley player to be named first team All-Conference since Scott Levy in 2013.
Mote, a junior, had a big offensive season as well with his tally of seven goals tied for 9th in the NE10 and his 17 points tied for 10th. He had a streak of five straight games with a goal from Sept. 18-Oct. 2, and also had a streak of seven straight games with at least one point from Sept. 11-Oct. 2.
He had two game-winning goals in that stretch. A free kick in the 90th minute to give Bentley a 2-1 victory over Saint Anselm and a penalty kick in OT in a 1-0 victory at New York Tech.
Mote was also named to the CoSIDA Academic All-District 1 team for Division II men's soccer for excelling in the classroom as an economics-finance major.
Marshall, just a sophomore, was excellent as a center back this season for the Falcons. He started 16 games, missing just one with an injury, and was among the team leaders in minutes played. He played all 90 minutes in a majority of games and formed a strong partnership with junior Adam Watkins.
The trio helped Bentley qualify for the NE10 playoffs after they went 6-6 in conference play for 18 points.
