Albany, N.Y. – Freshman Hilmar Halldorsson (Akranes, Iceland) scored once in each half to see Saint Rose past Bentley 2-0 on Saturday afternoon.
Halldorsson scored in the 35th minute to give the Golden Knights a 1-0 lead, then added a late goal in the 88th to clinch it.
Despite the defeat, the Falcons will end the weekend still in 3rd place in the NE10 standings with 18 points with a 6-3 record. Saint Rose improved to 5-3-1 in the NE10 for 16 points.
Senior Julian Stewart (Acton, Mass./Acton-Boxbrough) led Bentley with two shots on goal, while junior Connor Mote (Lisle, Ill./Benet) led the team with five total shots.
Reigning NE10 Goalkeeper of the Week Nick Maldarella (Saint James, N.Y./St. John's) made six saves.
Bentley will look to get back in the win column on Tuesday when they host Southern Connecticut at 3:00 pm.
