Manchester, N.H. – Junior Connor Mote (Lisle, Ill./Benet) scored his 6th goal of the season to give Bentley a first half lead, but Southern New Hampshire pulled away in the second half for a 4-1 victory over Bentley men's soccer on Wednesday.

Mote scored from a penalty kick in the 24th minute to give Bentley an early lead over the Penmen. He now has scored in five straight games and has at least one point in every game this season, for totals of six goals, three assists and 15 points.

Southern New Hampshire though got a tying goal from defender Jannik Mohr just under five minutes later, and the game went into halftime 1-1.

The teams battled in a 1-1 tie for the opening 15-plus minutes of the second half, until the Penmen went ahead on a goal by forward Nadjib Chibout in the 61st minute.

Senior Michael Goncalves extended their lead with a strike in the 77th minute, with Chibout on the assist, and Chibout got in on the scoring again with his second of the night in the 81st minute.

Bentley's keeper Nick Maldarella (St. James, N.Y./St. John's) still came up with 11 saves, a season high.

The defeat snapped Bentley's three game winning streak, and dropped its records to 4-3 overall and 2-1 NE10. SNHU improved to 3-4-1 and 1-3 NE10.

Bentley will look to get back in the win column on Saturday when they host Le Moyne at 12:00.
