OLD WESTBURY, N.Y. – Junior Connor Mote (Lisle, Ill./Benet Academy) scored on a penalty kick 41 seconds into overtime to give the Bentley men's soccer team a 1-0 victory at New York Tech in a non-conference match on Tuesday.
The goal was Mote's 4th of the season in just five matches and he continues to have a point in every match so far.
A foul on NYIT's Keston Stephon Smith in the penalty box on Julian Stewart (Acton, Mass./Acton-Boxboro) after a run into the box set up Mote's opportunity. Mote didn't miss with a hard shot to the upper right corner, past the outstretched arms of NYIT keeper Pol Zapata.
Bentley keeper Nick Maldarella (Saint James, N.Y./St.John's) earned the win, as the Falcons improved to 3-2 on the season and have won two straight. NYIT dropped to 2-5.
The Falcons return to NE10 action, and at home, when they take on AIC on Saturday at noon.
