Waltham, Mass. – Bentley men's soccer gets its 2019 season started this week with a pair of matches on the road. First up is a non-conference tilt with rival Stonehill on Wednesday, followed a trip to Philadelphia to take on Holy Family on Saturday.

NE10 finalists in 2017, the Falcons will look to build towards a run towards the postseason with a number of returning players that played a lot together last season. 12 players that played in at least 12 matches last season return.

Captains Julian Stewart (Acton, Mass./Acton-Boxborough), Alec Foster (Wayland, Mass./Wayland) and Adam Watkins (Clover, S.C./Clover) will lead the way in different areas of the field. Stewart, a forward, leads the team in goals over the last two seasons, while Foster can line up either as an attacker or defender. Watkins, only a junior, has been one of the team's most consistent players over his first two seasons. Lining up as a center back, he has started every match Bentley has played since the 2017 season.

Another player that has started every match of his career thus far is junior midfielder Connor Mote (Lisle, Ill./Benet. Mote began his career playing right back as a freshman, but moved forward up the field last season to lineup as a midfielder and added to the team's attack. He finished second on the team in each of goals, assists and points last season.

Senior Nick Halliday (Cranbury, N.J./Princeton High) and sophomore Harrison Bourgeois (Maynard, Mass./Maynard), along with Stewart, were the team's leading goal scorers last season and will look to continue to add goals, along with 2018 All-Rookie team selection Hunter Marshall (Harwinton, Conn./Avon Old Farms) and junior Jackson Fotter (Gorham, Maine/Gorham).

Watkins, along with senior Colby Gould (Exeter, N.H./Exeter) can expect to anchor the team's backline, with Foster also dropping back as well.

In goal, the team can call upon senior Nick Maldarella (Saint James, N.Y./Saint John's) and sophomores Markus Foehr (Kailua, Hawaii) and Duane Blische (Barkhamsted, Conn./Northwestern Regional).

After the Bentley's run of three straight road matches to begin the season, which also includes a trip to Post University a week from Wednesday, they play the home and NE10 opener on Saturday, September 21 against Saint Anselm. A home match against AIC to close out the month on September 28 comes after a trip to NYIT on September 24.

October begins with a trip to Southern New Hampshire on October 2. That match precedes a stretch of three home matches out of four. Le Moyne and Stonehill visit on October 5 and 9, respectively, and a trip to Saint Michael's on October 12 is followed by a visit from Franklin Pierce on October 19.

The regular season begins to wind down when Southern Connecticut comes to town on October 29, followed by a home match against Assumption on November 1. The final regular season match is at New Haven on November 6. The NE10 playoffs begin on November 9 with the quarterfinals, and conclude one week later with the championship match.
