Batawi Scores but Bentley Drops 2-1 Decision to Southern New Hampshire

MANCHESTER, N.H. – Bentley University senior forward Luc Batawi (Raleigh, N.C./Enloe) scored a first half goal, but two earlier first half goals by Southern New Hampshire saw them take a 2-1 decision over the visiting Falcons in an NE10 match on Wednesday night.

Junior Alex Satrustegui scored goals in the 12th and 28th minutes to stake the Penmen , who received votes in the Division II national poll this week, to a 2-0 lead.

Bentley halved the lead in the 41st minute as Batawi found the back of the net off a corner kick from freshman back Connor Mote (Lisle, Ill./Benet). Mote delivered the kick from left corner for the assist, and Batawi poked home a shot from the near post for the goal.

The Penmen held a slim edge in total shots at 13-9 and in corner kicks at 8-5. Senior forward Sean Sullivan (Suffield, Conn./Suffield) and freshman Adam Watkins (McConnells, S.C.) each had a team high two shots for the Falcons.

Harrison Rapant (Pittsfield, Mass./Pittsfield), the reigning NE10 Goalkeeper of the Week, made four saves on the night for Bentley.

The Falcons, which had their three game unbeaten streak snapped, next take on AIC on Saturday for a 1:00 pm kick off, which begins a three game home stand to close out the regular season.
