Merrimack Scores Once in Each Half to Top Bentley 2-0

NORTH ANDOVER, Mass. – Merrimack scored once in each half as they posted a 2-0 win over Bentley University in a Northeast-10 men's soccer matchup on Wednesday night.

Bentley kept the Warriors, now 6-1 on the season and 3-0 NE10, off the scoreboard for the first 40 minutes until the hosts got on the scoreboard through sophomore Andrea Frassine's first goal of the season. The goal was created after a shot from back Michael Dushman was blocked, and Frassine jumped on the rebound to convert for the goal.

Despite the goal, shots on goal in the first half were only slightly in favor of Merrimack at 3-2. Bentley's came from Peter Clifford (Arlington, Mass./Arlington) and junior forward Julian Stewart (Acton, Mass./Acton-Boxboro).

Merrimack got its 2nd goal in the 83rd minute from Frassine again, who volleyed in a corner kick from senior Mattia Lanzi.

Falcons goalie David Price (Needham, Mass./Beaver Country) made seven saves on the night.

Bentley is back on the road on Saturday when they visit Saint Rose.
