Price Comes up Big in OT in Bentley’s Draw with Southern Conn

WALTHAM, Mass. – Bentley junior goalkeeper David Price (Needham, Mass./Beaver Country) made two huge saves in double overtime to help the men's soccer team earn a 0-0 draw with Southern Connecticut State on Saturday afternoon in a Northeast-10 match.

Price twice denied Southern Conn's leading goal scorer Louis Tambini when he was in all alone on goal, first in the 106th minute, and again in the 108th minute. Those two saves were a part of a six save day for Price, who also came up with several important clearances throughout the afternoon.

Bentley's best chance to score came late in the 2nd half, when a shot by senior Dan Anderson (Bedford, Mass./Bedford) from the right wing from about 25 yards out forced a diving save out of Owls goalkeeper Noah Varonier.

Anderson led the Falcons in shots on goal with two, while senior Tommy Nickerson (Colchester, Conn./Baron Academy) and freshman Connor Mote (Lisle, Ill./Benet Academy) each had one.

Bentley picked up its first NE10 point of the season with the draw, which moved its conference record to 0-1-1 on the season. They'll be back in action on Wednesday night when they visit Merrimack.
