Sullivan Scores 4th Goal of Season, but Bentley Falls at Franklin Pierce

RINDGE, N.H. – Junior forward Sean Sullivan (Suffield, Conn./Suffield HS) scored his 4th goal of the 2016 season, but 20th ranked Franklin Pierce took a 3-1 home win over Bentley University in Northeast-10 men's soccer on Wednesday night.

Franklin Pierce got off to a good start with two goals in the first 16 minutes, with both goals scored by forward Marius Preber and setup by freshman midfielder Jacob Blixt.

The duo first combined for a goal in just the 2nd minute off a set piece to give the Ravens a 1-0 lead. They then helped make it 2-0 in the 16th minute with a give and go, that saw Preber finish with a chip shot for the goal.

Bentley got back in it when Sullivan scored in the 19th minute to cut the deficit to 2-1. The goal came off a free kick into the box from center back Michael Baron (Medfield, Mass./Roxbury Latin) that Sullivan deflected in.

Just over a minute later though, Franklin Pierce restored its two goal advantage when senior back Casey Schehl found the back of the net. Preber was involved again, this time with the assist, to make the score 3-1 for the Ravens.

Franklin Pierce has now won two in a row and three out of four.

After completing their five game road trip, Bentley is back at home on Saturday when they take on Saint Michael's at 11:00 am.
