Bentley Claims 3-0 Win at Stonehill; Sullivan Involved in All Three Goals

EASTON, Mass. – The Bentley University men's soccer team claimed a 3-0 road win over Northeast-10 rival Stonehill on Wednesday afternoon. Junior forward Sean Sullivan (Suffield, Conn./Suffield HS) was involved in all three goals. He scored once late in the game, and assisted on the first two goals.

Bentley's first two goal scorers on the afternoon were senior Forrest Scaringe (Cohoes, N.Y./CBA) and junior Eric Morra (Setauket, N.Y./Ward Melville HS), with Sullivan getting both of the assists.

The Falcons wasted little time in scoring the first goal, when Scaringe and Sullivan combined to give them a 1-0 lead in the 10th minute. Sullivan sent in a cross from the left wing that Scaringe headed to the far post past diving Stonehill keeper Connor McDonough for the goal.

Morra then made it 2-nil for Bentley in the 20th minute, with his first career goal. Sullivan again provided the assist with a cross sent it from the left, which Morra volleyed to the right post.

Bentley's defense allowed just one shot on goal in the first half, which reigning Northeast-10 Goalkeeper of the Week Harrison Rapant (Pittsfield/Pittsfield HS) turned away.

Rapant then came up big in the 2nd half. He made four saves in the final 45 minutes, including two that came late on, in the 82nd and 87th minutes.

Bentley came close to adding to their lead earlier in the 2nd half as well. Scaringe had a shot hit the post in the 50th minute, and junior forward Luc Batawi (Raleigh, N.C./Enloe HS) had a shot on goal in the 55th minute saved by McDonough. Scaringe had another shot on goal saved in the 67th minute.

Sullivan then added Bentley's third goal of the day in the 90th minute when he won a scramble for a loose ball in front of the net and slotted it home. Junior James Zaepfel (Williamsville, N.Y./Canisius HS)

The Falcons will now look to pick up their second win in a row on Saturday when they travel to Le Moyne.
