WALTHAM, Mass. – Visiting Saint Rose scored three first half goals en route to a 3-1 victory over the Bentley University men's soccer team in a Northeast-10 match on Sunday afternoon. Sophomore Kevin Williams (Wilmington, Del./Salesianum School) had the goal for the Falcons.

Bentley started brightly and had the match's first good chance from forward Sean Sullivan (Suffield, Conn./Suffield HS) with a shot on goal from 12 yards on the right side of the box, only to see his shot go just wide.

Saint Rose though capitalized and nabbed  1-0 lead in the 28^th minute. Right back Pablo Lajeunesse set the goal up with a long cross into the box from the right wing, which saw forward Suleiman Haruna-iya get a glancing header on the ball and into the far post for the goal.

The Golden Knights went up 2-0 in the 35^th minute when sophomore Ryan Rooney volleyed in a free kick. Less than two minutes later, Suleiman scored another header goal inside the penalty area, with Lajeunesse again providing the service to give them a 3-0 lead.

Bentley got one back in the 78^th minute when Williams scored his first career goal. The played started with a throw-in from the right sideline. Sullivan winded up with possession on the goal line, and threaded a through ball to Williams in the six-yard box for a volleyed shot and the goal.

That cut the deficit to 3-1, but Saint Rose was able to see out the remaining 12 minutes to hang on for the win.

The Falcons will be back on the pitch for their next match on Wednesday at Stonehill.
