MANCHESTER, N.H. – Top seed Southern New Hampshire defeated fourth seed Bentley 2-0 Friday night to advance to the Northeast-10 Championship finals on Sunday.

The Falcons fall to 10-7-1 on the season, while the Penmen improve to 17-1. They came into the match ranked No. 3 in Division II and will play Adelphi in Sunday's final.

Bentley was dealt a major blow early on when a red card was given in the 16^th minute, making them play with 10 men the rest of the way.

Southern took advantage less than three minutes later when forward Orri Gustafsson redirected a cross from the left wing by left back Gilbert Manier, which gave the Penmen a 1-0 lead in the 19^th minute.

Manier was involved in the 2^nd goal to give Southern a 2-0 lead in the 37^th minute. Running on to a pass from the right, Manier had space to tee up a shot that rolled into the far post from 20 yards out.

Bentley's best scoring chance of the night came in the 69^th minute off a corner kick by freshman Evan Ryan (Cornwall, Vt./Middlebury Union). Senior Nick Hoffman (East Brookfield, Mass./Quabbin) got a good header off from 12 yards, only to be denied by Southern keeper Nick Zucco's diving save.
