ALBANY, N.Y. – Scott Levy (Canton, Mass./Canton) and Evan Ryan (Cornwall, Vt./Middlebury Union) each found the net as the Bentley men's soccer team went on the road Saturday and defeated Saint Rose 2-0. The win evens the team's Northeast-10 record to 3-3.
After the first 29 minutes were scoreless, Levy broke the deadlock with his second goal of the season and 17th of his career. He scored on a header off a free kick, delivered by midfielder Jose Tirado (Lima, Peru) from 40 yards out. The assist was Tirado's fourth of the season.
Ryan came on as a sub in the 66th minute, and just six minutes later added an insurance goal in the 72nd minute to make it 2-0 for Bentley. He gained control of a loose ball in the penalty area and struck from 12 yards out into the top left corner of the net.
Bentley goalkeeper Jack Blatchford (Douglas, Mass./Douglas) was busy, making six saves to earn the win.
After a week off, Bentley (4-5, 3-3 NE-10) will open a four match home stand on Saturday when they host Le Moyne for a 10:00 am kickoff.
