No. 3 Southern N.H. Holds On in 2nd Half to Top Bentley 1-0

MANCHESTER, N.H. – No. 3 ranked Southern New Hampshire received a 23rd minute penalty kick goal from graduate midfielder Sofiane Tergou, and it stood up the rest of the way for a 1-0 victory over Bentley Wednesday night in a Northeast-10 clash. It was the conference opener for the Falcons.

Scoring chances were at a premium as the teams registered just one shot on goal combined in open play, which came from Penmen midfielder Ryan Simpson, which was saved  by Bentley keeper Jack Blatchford (Douglas, Mass./Douglas).

Southern held a 4-3 advantage in corner kicks in a physical match that saw 25 fouls called and three cards given.

The Falcons (1-3, 0-1 NE-10) are back in action on Sunday when they play their home opener against Assumption. Kickoff is set for 12:00 pm.
