OLD WESTBURY, N.Y. – Sophomore forward Sean Sullivan (Suffield, Conn./Suffield) found the back of the net for the Bentley, but the Falcons were beaten on the road by NYIT 2-1 on Wednesday in a non-conference match.
Bentley fell behind 1-0 in the 19th minute when NYIT's Krishen Patel scored for the second time this season, converting off a scramble for a loose ball in front of the net.
Trailing 1-0 at the break, Sullivan's goal equalized for Bentley in the 49th minute, with a shot that beat Bears goalkeeper Jonathan Rico to his left.
A little over 11 minutes later though, NYIT's Ben Wilson scored what proved to be the game-winner in the 62 minute to put them in front for good.
Now 1-2 on the season, Bentley is off until next Wednesday night when they open their Northeast-10 schedule on the road against Southern New Hampshire.
