Fitzpatrick, Levy to Captain Bentley Men's Soccer Team

WALTHAM, Mass. – Senior center back Tom Fitzpatrick (Coventry, Conn./East Catholic) and junior forward Scott Levy (Canton, Mass./Canton) will captain the Bentley University men's soccer team during the 2014 season, which gets underway for the Falcons on September 4 against Dominican (N.Y.).

Said seventh year head coach Gary Crompton, "Scott and Tom are wonderful choices to help lead our team. Both are quality players who work hard and set a great example for our group. This example is very important given that we have 10 freshmen joining our program this year. Both captains have valuable playing experience in our competitive league which will prove more important as the season progresses."

Fitzpatrick started all 16 matches he dressed for last season, and has started 37 in total during his three seasons. He scored the game-winning goal in Bentley's 1-0 win over Stonehill last season. Fitzpatrick's role as co-captain marks the fourth straight season a defensive player has been a team captain.

Levy had a breakout sophomore season in 2013, netting eight goals to lead the squad. That placed him third in the Northeast-10 and earned him a first team All-Conference selection.

"Our captains are chosen not by the coaching staff but by the players," Crompton continued. "It is a great tribute to these two leaders to be recognized by their peers and both have earned the respect of our entire program with their high standards on and off the playing field."

Bentley's season gets started at the Marriott Kickoff Classic in North Andover, which will pit the Falcons against Dominican (N.Y.) on Sept. 4 to start the season, followed by a match against Caldwell two days later.
