Levy Scores Twice as Bentley Halts Le Moyne's Win Streak, 2-0

SYRACUSE, N.Y. – Sophomore Scott Levy (Canton, Mass./Canton) scored two goals as Bentley went on the road and downed Le Moyne 2-0 in a Northeast-10 men's soccer match Saturday afternoon, which ended Le Moyne's five-match winning streak.

Levy scored in the 31st and 56th minutes to give Bentley (4-3, 3-2 NE-10) its third straight victory, and to hand Le Moyne (5-2, 3-1 NE-10) its first NE-10 loss of the season.

Levy' first goal came just minutes after Le Moyne had a goal disallowed for off sides. Sophomore Marty Ryan (Albany, N.Y./Albany) set the goal up, sending in a cross from the right wing that Levy knocked in from the six-yard box, fighting through traffic in the process.

Levy added his second of the day in the 56th minute to give Bentley a 2-0 lead. He gained control of a loose ball far away from goal on the left wing, and chipped the ball in with the goalie out of position.

Sophomore goalie Jack Blatchford (Douglas, Mass.) kept his second straight clean sheet to earn the win. He made three saves and was strong in the air, claiming several Le Moyne crosses and free kicks to eliminate scoring chances.

Bentley will go for its fourth straight win on Wednesday when they host Franklin Pierce. Kickoff is scheduled for 3:30 pm.
