Bentley Falls at AIC 3-2

SPRINGFIELD, Mass. – A 78th minute goal from AIC freshman Jason Burnusuz broke a 2-2 tie and lifted the Yellow Jackets to a 3-2 victory over Bentley Saturday night in a Northeast-10 men's soccer matchup. The Falcons fall to 3-2 overall and 1-1 in the NE-10 on the season.

Just minutes before Burnusuz's goal, Falcons captain Weston Zeiner (North Granby, Conn./Granby Memorial) had equalized in the 75th minute with his first goal of the season with freshman Stephen Silva (Suffield, Conn./Suffield) on the assist.

But the match wouldn't stay tied for long as Burnusuz scored the winner less than three minutes later.

The first half saw three goals scored with AIC getting two of them. Junior forward Ike Ekwueme put the home side in front in just the 5th minute. The Falcons though leveled  in the 18th minute on junior Cody Osgood's (Harvard, Mass./The Bromfield School) second goal of the season as he knocked in a loose ball off a rebound.

But just as Burnusuz answered Zeiner's goal in short order in the second half, senior Conor Doyle answered Osgood's goal less than three minutes later in the 21st minute to give AIC a 2-1 lead.

AIC improves to 2-4 on the season and 2-0 in the NE-10 with the victory.

The Falcons will look to get back in the win column on Wednesday when they host Saint Michael's for an NE-10 match.
