Waltham, Mass. – Eight different players recorded a point and goalie Mike Haggan (Braintree, Mass./BC High) made 14 saves to lead the Bentley men's lacrosse team to a 13-8 victory over Saint Rose on Saturday, in the team's first NE10 home game of the season.

The Falcons improved to 3-1 overall and 1-1 NE10 with the victory.

The teams went back and forth in the 1^st quarter, which ended with Bentley ahead 4-3. Senior Alex Astarita (Bedford, N.H./Bishop Guertin) had all three of his goals in the 1^st quarter, two came just over a minute apart midway through the quarter and erased an early 2-0 lead for Saint Rose.

Astarita and Connor Baughan (Foxborough, Mass./Portsmouth Abbey) scored consecutive goals to close out the quarter to give Bentley the lead after 15 minutes.

Bentley then controlled the 2^nd quarter and outscored the Golden Knights 4-1. Seven minutes of the quarter elapsed before a goal was scored, but senior Sam Hurley (Medfield, Mass./Medfield) fired in a goal from Matt Brooks (Brunswick, Maine/Phillips Exeter) at the 7:35 mark to open the scoring for the quarter. Kris Campbell (Longmeadow, Mass./Longmeadow) and Joey Tesoriero (Huntington Station, N.Y./Half Hollow Hills) then scored a little more than two minutes apart at 6:44 and 4:24 to put Bentley up 7-3.

Brooks opened the 3^rd quarter with back to back goals to give Bentley a 10-4 lead with about five minutes gone. Campbell's third tally of the day at 6:40 extended the lead to 11-4.

Saint Rose did claw back with three goals to close the quarter, and a goal by Jack Permrick 1:52 into the 4^th quarter made it an 11-8 game, but that was the final goal of the day for the visitors.

Senior Scott Carvalho (Wayland, Mass./Wayland), from Campbell, scored at the 8:25 mark, and Tesoriero netted his 2^nd of the day 37 seconds later to make it 13-8.

Sophomore Nick Colstad (Hampton Falls, N.H./Governor's Academy) and Brent Summers (San Diego, Calif./Westview) led the defensive efforts. Colstad had three caused turnovers and five ground balls, and Summers had two caused turnovers.

Bentley will be back in action on Wednesday night when they visit Merrimack.
