Hurley, Sanford, Dold Voted to All-New England Teams

WALTHAM, Mass. – Sam Hurley (Medfield, Mass./Medfield), Matt Sanford (Stratham, N.H./Bow) and Matt Dold (Medfield, Mass./Medfield) of the Bentley men's lacrosse team have all been voted to the NEILA's Division II All-New England teams.

Hurley was chosen to the first team, while Sanford and Dold were chosen to the second team.

A midfielder who just completed his junior season, Hurley led the Falcons in assists with 14. He also tallied 17 goals, fourth most on the team, for 31 points, which ranked third. Hurley's best game of the season came on April 17th when the Falcons nearly upset No. 6 ranked Adelphi as he went off for a career-high eight points, on four goals and four assists.

It's the second straight season Hurley has been named All-New England, after a second team selection in 2017.

A team captain this season, Sanford was one of the region's top attackers during his career. He tallied 29 goals this season to lead the team in goals for the third consecutive time. He scored multiple goals in 10 of Bentley's 13 games, which included a career high five against Southern New Hampshire on April 3rd.

Sanford finished his career with 120 points, which made him the first Bentley player since 2012 to surpass the century mark for career points.

Only a freshman, Dold was recognized for his play as a long stick midfielder. He ranked third on the team in ground balls with 24. A season high five came in the Adelphi game. He also tallied two goals, which came in wins over Roberts Wesleyan on March 10 and Pace on April 21.
