Sanford, Hurley Voted Preseason All-New England

WALTHAM, Mass. – Bentley University men's lacrosse student-athletes Matt Sanford (Stratham, N.H./Bow) and Sam Hurley (Medfield, Mass./Medfield) have been voted Preseason All-New England for Division II by the New England Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association.

Sanford, an attacker, was one of three chosen at that position, while Hurley was one of three midfielders selected.

Sanford, who is going into his senior year, has finished second on the team in points in each of the last two seasons. He had 36 points in 2016, was tied for the team lead in goals (24) and was second in assists (12). He has 55 goals, 27 assists and 82 points for his career entering this season.

Hurley, going into his junior season, tallied 31 points in 2016 which was third best on the squad. He notched 23 goals, second most on the team, and eight assists. Those numbers earned him two postseason honors; second team All-Conference from the Northeast-10, and second team All-New England.

Bentley will get its 2018 campaign under way one week from Saturday, March 3, when they host New York Tech at 1:00 pm.
