Bentley Cruises Past AIC 14-3

WALTHAM, Mass. – Nine different players found the back of the net as the Bentley men's lacrosse team posted a 14-3 victory over American International on Saturday afternoon. Junior Matt Sanford (Stratham, N.H./Bow) led the attack with three goals and three assists.

The Falcons got off to a fast start with three goals in the first four minutes, and never let up as they improved to 4-3 on the season and 3-2 in NE10 games.

Bentley led 7-0 after the first quarter as sophomore Sam Hurley (Medfield, Mass./Medfield) scored two of the goals, which included a man-up goal at the 4:25 mark, with Sanford on the assist. Five other players got in on the act in the quarter, which included Ryan Donovan (Cornwall on Hudson, N.Y./Cornwall) and Matt Brooks (Brunswick, Maine/Phillips Exeter).

Sanford scored Bentley's only two goals of the 2nd quarter in the first 3:20, as they led 9-0. Bentley kept the shutout going until late in the quarter when the Yellow Jackets got on the board with 1:41 remaining.

In the 3rd quarter, freshman Mark Galione (Ridgefield, Conn./Ridgefield) scored two of Bentley's five goals, which gave the team a 14-2 lead going into the final quarter.
