Adler, A. Astarita Earn Northeast-10 All-Conference Honors

WALTHAM, Mass. – Bentley junior Max Adler (Ft. Lauderdale, Fla./Northfield Mount Hermon) and freshman Alex Astarita (Bedford, N.H./Bishop Guertin) have earned spots on the 2016 Northeast-10 Men's Lacrosse All-Conference teams.

Adler, a face-off specialist, was voted to the first team by the conference's 12 head coaches. Astarita, a midfielder, was voted to the All-Rookie team.

Adler has been one of the most dominant face-off takers in Division II the past two seasons. As of May 4, he's 4th in the nation in face-off winning percentage at 72.8%. He won 195 out of the 268 draws he took this season. He finished last season 6th in Division II in face-off winning percentage.

The junior is also 4th nationally in ground balls per game at 9.15 He had a season-high 19, while going 22-26 in face-offs, in a game at Southern New Hampshire on March 30. Adler also had a dominant game vs. Pace where he collected 18 ground balls and went 23-25 in the face-off circle. He had three other games where he picked up double-digit ground balls, including 11 vs. Merrimack on April 23.

Astarita made an immediate impact as a freshman. He finished 3rd on the team in both goals (19) and points (23), and notched four assists. He had a goal in all but one of Bentley's 13 games this season.

The youngest of three Astarita brothers to have played for the Bentley men's lacrosse team, he had a hat trick in two games this season; vs. Franklin Pierce March 19 and at Southern New Hampshire. Astarita also scored the overtime goal in Bentley's 10-9 win over Assumption on March 26.
