Baker Picks Up Northeast-10 Goalie of the Week Award

WALTHAM, Mass. – Senior goalie Josh Baker (Randolph, N.J./Randolph) of the Bentley men's lacrosse team has been named the Northeast-10's Goalie of the Week, the conference announced Monday. It's the second time this season he's earned the award.

Baker excelled in between the pipes in two games last week as the Falcons split. He made a career-high 16 saves against So. New Hampshire on Wednesday night, a game in which Bentley was beaten 8-7. He then made 13 saves as the Falcons bounced back by beating Franklin Pierce 6-3 on Saturday night. Baker made 29 combined saves against 40 shots faced for a 5.50 goals against average and .725 save percentage.

Baker has started all 12 games for Bentley so far and has helped them to a 7-3 Northeast-10 record, and they have clinched a home playoff game in the first round of the Northeast-10 Men's Lacrosse Championship. Baker's season goals against average of 7.35 is third in the conference, and his save percentage of .604 is second. He's also fifth in fewest goals allowed, despite playing more minutes than the four goalies ahead of him.

The Falcons will close out the regular season on Saturday when they visit Adelphi.
