Pair of Men’s Lacrosse Players Earn All-Academic Honors

WALTHAM, Mass. – Recent graduates and co-captains Brian Galvin (Whitman, Mass./Boston College High) and Dante Mancini (Syosset, Mass./Syosset) of the Bentley University men's lacrosse team have been named to the Northeast-10 All-Academic team.

Galvin, an accountancy and liberal studies double major who earned a 3.78 grade point average as a senior, was a standout defenseman on the field. He started every game he appeared in for two straight seasons. In 2011, he helped the Falcons average the most caused turnovers per game (9.50) in the conference and post the best penalty killing percentage (.808). Individually, Galvin was fourth on the team in caused turnovers (13) and picked up 21 ground balls. It's the first time he's been named All-Academic.

This is the third postseason honor for Mancini, who was previously a second team All-Conference pick and a first team All-New England selection at midfield. He was second on the team in caused turnovers (21), while scooping up 25 ground balls and scoring two goals. A corporate finance and accounting major, Mancini had a 3.46 GPA during the 2010-11 academic year. It's his first All-Academic selection.

Galvin and Mancini are two of just nine players chosen to the men's lacrosse All-Academic team. Le Moyne is the only other team with more than two selections.
