Waltham, Mass. – Bentley and Canisius played to a tie for the second straight night at Bentley Arena, this time by a 4-4 score. The Golden Griffins though earned an extra point by scoring in the 3x3 overtime period.

Canisius' Logan Gestro scored 37 seconds into the 3x3 overtime period, after the first five minute overtime did not yield a goal. Both teams earned one point for being tied after the first overtime, but Canisius gets an extra point for scoring in the 3x3 period.

Bentley took command of the game with a four goal second period to lead 4-1, but Canisius gradually chipped away in the third period to force overtime.

A Bentley goal by freshman Matt Gosiewski (Wilton, Conn.), his 7^th of the season, at 10:36 of the 2^nd period tied the score 1-1.

The Falcons then exploded for three goals in a span of less than five minutes. Junior Luke Santerno (Smithers, B.C.) scored his 2^nd goal of the weekend and 4^th of the season at the 12:20 mark after he jumped on a Canisius turnover in their defensive zone and beat Griffs goalie Jacob Barczewski with a quick shot.

Bentley then went ahead 3-1 as sophomore Jakov Novak (Windsor, Ontario) continued his scoring streak. The goal at 16:09 was his 14^th of the season and 4^th in the last four games. Santerno and goalie Fraser Kirk (Burlington, Ontario) had the assists.

Less than a minute later, sophomore Will Garin (Mound, Minn.) made it 4-1 when he slammed home the rebound off a shot by defenseman Connor Brassard (Fitchburg, Mass.).

The 4-1 lead stood past the midway point of the 3^rd period, but two quick Canisius goals 35 seconds apart, by Grant Meyer and Lee Lapid, cut the lead to 4-3 with 9:29 remaining in the game.

In the final minute, Canisius was on the power play and pulled Barczewski for a 6-on-4 advantage, and they cashed in as Meyer's second goal of the period with 41 seconds left tied the score 4-4 and forced overtime.

Neither team scored in the first five minute overtime, which led to Gestro's goal in the 3x3 period.

Bentley (8-11-3, 6-9-2) takes two points out of the weekend. They will be back at home next weekend for two games against AIC.
