Worcester, Mass. – Bentley and Holy Cross skated to a 1-1 tie at the Hart Center on Saturday night. Overtime saw the Falcons kill off over three minutes of a Holy Cross power play to preserve the tie.

The game went into overtime tied 1-1 after Holy Cross' Jack Surowiec scored in the 1^st period, and Bentley's Michael Zuffante (Bloomingdale, Ill.) in the 2^nd period.

The teams skated the first 1:44 of overtime 5-on-5, but a five minute major penalty on Bentley forced them to go at it shorthanded for the remainder of overtime, more than three minutes. However the penalty kill units excelled and didn't allow Holy Cross any quality scoring chances, and the game ended in a 1-1 tie.

Bentley's Atlantic Hockey record goes to 14-9-3 for 31 points, and overall they are 15-13-4. They will go into the final weekend of the regular season in 2^nd place in Atlantic Hockey.

Holy Cross scored the only goal in a defensive struggle of a 1^st period that saw the teams combine for just 10 shots. Surowiec scored it at the 7:26 mark, after Falcons goalie Aidan Pelino (Oakville, Ontario) saved an initial shot by Kevin Darrar, and Surowiec deposited the rebound.

The game opened up more in the 2^nd period with both teams creating quality scoring chances, but it was Bentley that had the only goal of the period off the stick of Zuffante for his 7^th goal of the season. Freshman Brendan Walkom (Pittsburgh, Pa.) fired a shot on goal from the left corner that was saved by goaltender Tommy Nixon, but a big rebound went to Zuffante on the far side, and he fired it past a diving Nixon and through two Holy Cross players for the goal.

Bentley had an 11-6 edge in shots in the 2^nd period, but went 0-2 on the power play.

Bentley's best chance of the 3^rd period came after Jonathan Desbiens (Montreal, Quebec) was released from a penalty. Brendan Hamblet (Hopkinton, Mass.) had the puck in the neutral zone and passed ahead to Desbiens just as he sprang out of the box. He skated in on net down the left side, but his shot was corralled by Nixon.

Bentley will stay on the road for the final weekend of the regular season. They visit Army West Point for two games, on March 1-2.
