Niagara University, N.Y. – Junior goalie Aidan Pelino (Oakville, Ontario) highlighted a team effort with 31 saves, as Bentley defeated Niagara 3-1 on the road Thursday night to extend its unbeaten streak to 12 games, and winning streak to eight games.

Three different players scored, including Jonathan Desbiens (Montreal, Quebec) for the 9^th straight game, to keep the nation's longest unbeaten streak rolling on. The eight straight wins extends the program's record as well.

In addition to Desbiens' goal in the first period, freshman Will Garin (Mound, Minn.) scored a power play goal early in the 3^rd period, and sophomore Brendan Hamblet (Hopkinton, Mass.) added an empty net goal in the latter stages of the 3^rd. The penalty kill went 3-3 on the night.

The teams battled scoreless for most of the 1^st period, until Bentley broke through on Desbiens' 14^th goal of the year with 29 seconds left in the period. Hamblet won a face-off in the offensive zone and played the puck back to defenseman Ethan Roswell (Paradise Valley, Ariz.) at the point, who fired a shot on net that was blocked. Drew Callin (Middleton, Wisc.) recovered the rebound and drove around the net, where he found Desbiens out in front. Desbiens then wristed a shot past Niagara goalie Brian Wilson to put Bentley up 1-0.

Neither team found the net in a scoreless 2^nd period, but shortly after the teams took the ice for the 3^rd period, the Falcons struck on the power play to go up 2-0.

Niagara was called for a boarding penalty 2:07 into the period, and just 20 seconds later Bentley scored. Bentley again won an offensive zone face-off, and the setup saw Desbiens play a cross-ice pass from the left boards to Tanner Jago (Brandon, Manitoba) along the right boards. Jago then fed Garin atop the point, who then blasted a shot past Wilson for the goal.

Niagara cut the lead to 2-1 with a goal by Jared Brandt with 5:16 remaining, then pulled Wilson with 4:35 remaining in search of the tying goal. But the move didn't work out as Hamblet scored from the neutral zone with 2:10 remaining.

Bentley improved its Atlantic Hockey record to 14-7-2 for 30 points, and to 15-11-3 overall. They'll look for a 4^th straight series sweep tomorrow night at 7:05 when the series concludes.
