Waltham, Mass. –Bentley extended the nation's longest unbeaten streak to 11 games, and set a new school Division I record with its 7^th straight win, by defeating Canisius 6-4 on Saturday at Bentley Arena for the series sweep.

Six different players found the back of the net, including junior Jonathan Desbiens (Montreal, Quebec) for the 8^th straight game.

Bentley is now 14-11-3 on the season, and 13-7-2 in Atlantic Hockey.

A 5-1 lead in the 2^nd period was whittled away to 5-4 by Canisius with 12 minutes remaining in the game, but Bentley held firm, and a big goal by freshman Jakov Novak (Windsor, Ontario) on the power play with 1:31 remaining sealed it.

Bentley got started early, and jumped out to a 1-0 lead just 1:06 into the game on freshman Will Garin's (Mound, Minn.) 4^th goal of the season. After Luke Santerno (Smithers, B.C.) brought the puck into the offensive zone, Garin's initial shot was blocked, but he was there to recover the rebound and shoot it under Canisius goalie Matt Ladd's pads for the goal.

The Griffs though tied it at the 7:35 mark of the 1^st period on a goal by center Matt Long. Falcons goalie Aidan Pelino (Oakville, Ontario) first made a pad save on a shot from the left by Dave Baskerville, but Long was there on the far side to claim the rebound for the goal.

The stayed tied for about four minutes, until Brendan Hamblet's (Hopkinton, Mass.) 7^th goal of the year restored Bentley's lead at 2-1. Senior Drew Callin (Middleton, Wisc.) fed Hamblet a pass down below the left face-off dot. Hamblet had time to set up his shot, and fired one top shelf past Ladd for the goal.

Bentley then opened up a 5-1 lead in the 2^nd period with three goals. Ryner Gorowsky (Lino Lakes, Minn.) got it started with another early goal, this one came just 52 seconds into the period. Gorowsky gained possession in the defensive zone near the blue line and sped down the ice to create a 2-on-1 with Luke Orysiuk (Edmonton, Alberta). Skating down the right, Gorowsky faked a shot, then wristed a shot over Ladd's shoulder to give the Falcons a 3-1 lead.

Defenseman Tanner Jago (Brandon, Manitoba) made it 4-1 at the 5:02 mark with his 7^th goal of the season. That was followed less than three minutes later by Desbiens scoring yet again, his 13^th of the season, with this one of the power play. After taking a pass from Garin, Desbiens had space to fire off a wrister from just outside the left face-off circle that rocketed past Ladd.

Canisius though began to chip away on a goal by Baskerville at 9:06, less than two minutes after Desbiens' goal, to make it a 5-2 game.

The score stayed that way into the 3^rd period, but the Griffs had goals by Austin Alger on the power play, and J.D. Pouge, within the first 8:23 of the 3^rd period, to make it a 5-4 game.

Bentley though kept the puck out the rest of the way, and took advantage of a Canisius penalty for hooking, when Novak struck for a power play goal with 91 seconds remaining when he tipped in a shot by Alexey Solovyev (Moscow, Russia) in front of the net.

Bentley outshot the Griffs 33-18 on the night. Pelino earned his 13^th win of the season between the pipes.

They'll look to keep the streak going next when they travel to Niagara, for a Thursday-Friday series.
