Buffalo, N.Y. – Bentley University defeated Canisius 3-1 on Saturday night to complete the series sweep on the road, and to extend its unbeaten streak to seven games at 5-0-2.

Junior goalie Aidan Pelino (Oakville, Ontario) made 21 saves, while three different Falcons had the goals; sophomore Luke Santerno (Smithers, B.C.), and juniors Jake Kauppila (Gurnee, Ill.) and Jonathan Desbiens (Montreal, Quebec).

The Falcons improved their Atlantic Hockey record to 9-7-2 for 20 points, and to 10-11-3 overall.

After a scoreless first period and Canisius scoring the game's first goal at 7:52 of the 2^nd period, Bentley scored three straight goals to take the win.

Santerno tied the game a little under five minutes after Canisius' goal with his 8^th tally of the year. Junior Ryner Gorowsky (Lino Lakes, Minn.) got the play started with a shot that went wide off the boards. Sophomore Michael Zuffante (Bloomingdale, Ill.) won the puck along the right side boards, and hit Santerno as he streaked in. Santerno then beat Canisius goalie Blake Weyrick from the right face-off dot with a shot low and to the stick side.

The score stayed 1-1 for the rest of the 2^nd period, and past the halfway point of the 3^rd period. But Bentley got the go-ahead goal from Kauppila at the 11:48 mark. Defenseman Ethan Roswell (Paradise Valley, Ariz.) sent the puck in from the point and behind the net. Freshman Will Schlagenhauf (Carmel, Ind.) chased it down and stole the puck from Weyrick. He then backhanded a pass to Kauppila in front of the net for the goal.

Canisius pulled Weyrick for an extra-attacker with 1:19 remaining, but Bentley was able to finish the game off with an empty-net goal by Desbiens, his second goal of the weekend. After Canisius sent the puck in to its offensive zone, Santerno won the puck along the boards and chipped a pass ahead to Desbiens who gained possession in the neutral zone. Desbiens then shot from just inside Bentley's blue line for the goal with 15 seconds left to secure the 3-1 win.

The Falcons will next look to keep their unbeaten streak going when they return to Bentley Arena to host Air Force. The series gets underway Friday night at 7:05 pm.
