Waltham, Mass. – Bentley University stretched its unbeaten streak to four games as the Falcons and RIT Tigers battled to a 2-2 tie at Bentley Arena on Friday night.

Bentley thoroughly dominated the first 10 minutes of the opening period and came away with a 2-0 lead with goals from sophomore Brendan Hamblet (Hopkinton, Mass.) and junior Jonathan Desbiens (Montreal, Quebec).

RIT fought back with goals from right wingers Kobe Walker in the 2^nd period and Shawn Cameron in the 3^rd period.

Cameron's goal was the final of the night. Neither team struck again over the remainder of the 3^rd period and in overtime and the game ended in a 2-2 tie. Bentley outshot RIT 32-26 on the night.

The Falcons' Atlantic Hockey record goes to 6-7-2, while RIT's goes to 8-6-3.

Hamblet's 4^th goal of the season just 3:15 into the game gave the Falcons an early 1-0 lead. Desbiens helped get it started by winning the puck along the left hand boards and sliding a pass to Hamblet down low. Hamblet pulled a nice deke move around RIT goalie Logan Drackett, as he was being pulled down, and slid the puck underneath Drackett's pads for the goal.

Just 23 seconds after the goal RIT was called for a tripping penalty and Bentley cashed in on the power play just 43 seconds later with Desbiens' 6^th goal of the year. A shot by Drew Callin (Middleton, Wisc.) went wide and Desbiens got the rebound on the far post. After two whacks at it Desbiens got it to go in under Drackett's pads for the 2-0 lead.

The Tigers though got on the board with Walker's goal 2:59 into the 2^nd period, and they tied it up when Cameron tipped in a shot from left wing Jake Hamacher at 7:15 of the 3^rd period.

Bentley had a chance at the go-ahead goal in the 3^rd frame with a short-handed opportunity when junior Matt Riggleman (Milford, Mich.) broke up a pass in RIT's zone and streaked towards a breakaway down the other end, but Drackett stood firm and kept the puck out and the game tied.

Late in regulation, Bentley's Aidan Pelino (Oakville, Ontario) robbed Walker with 1:36 remaining to keep the game tied. The puck slid to a wide open Walker in the slot, but Pelino denied him with his glove from point-blank range.

In overtime, Bentley's Luke Orysiuk (Edmonton, Alberta) had the first good scoring chance after he exploded out of the right wing with a shot on goal, but Drackett made a pad save.

RIT had a chance to win it in the final seconds, but a shot by left wing Erik Brown hit the pipe, and Pelino saved the rebound from Gave Valenzuela, and the game ended 2-2.

These two teams will be back at it tomorrow in the series finale at Bentley Arena, which begins at 7:05 pm.
