Waltham, Mass. – Harvard senior goalie Michael Lackey made 24 saves to help the visiting Crimson hold off the Bentley University Falcons 2-1 in front of over 1,700 fans at Bentley Arena on Tuesday night.

Bentley out shot Harvard 25-23 on the night and had spells where the peppered Lackey's net and produced several good scoring chances. A goal by sophomore Brendan Hamblet (Hopkinton, Mass.) with 7:06 remaining got the Falcons to within 2-1, but Harvard was able to hold on the rest of the way.

Some good early saves by Falcons goalie Aidan Pelino (Oakville, Ontario) kept the game 0-0 until Bentley created some quality scoring chances.  During a several minutes sequence around the middle of the period, freshman Will Schlagenhauf (Carmel, Ind.) had a backhander on the goal line sticked away by Lackey. Sophomore center Luke Santerno (Smithers, B.C.) had a shot on the doorstep denied by the goalie, and junior Jonathan Desbiens (Montreal, Quebec) created a chance by crashing on the far post for a rebound but Lackey slid across the crease to make the save.

Bentley held the Crimson to just three shots on goal in the 2^nd period, but it was the first one of the period that got through for a goal to give them a 1-0 lead. Freshman center Jack Drury found the back of the net off a pass from line mate Casey Dornbach for the goal at the 1:18 mark.

Bentley's best looks of the period came from Schlagenhauf and fellow freshman Will Garin (Mound, Minn.) just before the midway point of the period. Schlagenhauf had a shot in the slot turned away by Lackey, and Garin jumped on the rebound for a shot but Lackey made the pad save on that one.

The Crimson went up 2-0 at the 6:10 mark of the 3^rd period when sophomore winger Jack Donato finished off a two-on-one rush with line mate Nathan Krusko to put them up two goals.

Bentley came charging back though as Hamblet punched in his 3^rd goal of the season at 13:06. Desbiens helped make the goal happen after he collected the puck in the defensive zone and skated all the way into Bentley's offensive zone. He finished the move off with a wrap-around and a pass in front to Hamblet who knocked it in through traffic to make it a 2-1 game.

The extra-attacker came on for Bentley with 1:21 left and they created a scoring chance off an offensive zone face-off win by Jakov Novak (Windsor, Ontario), but Lackey was able to smother a shot from close range by Santerno as their final attempt on goal.

Bentley will now be off until Dec. 30 for the semester break. They return to the ice to face the University of New Hampshire up in Durham.
