Waltham, Mass. – Bentley University scored three 3^rd period goals on its way to a 4-2 victory over Army West Point on Saturday night at Bentley Arena.

Goals from Jonathan Desbiens (Montreal, Quebec), Alexey Solovyev (Moscow, Russia) and Luke Santerno (Smithers, B.C.) turned a 1-1 game at the start of the 3^rd period into a 4-2 Falcons win.

Desbiens' goal 3:02 into the 3^rd period set the stage for the final period charge. After taking a centering pass from sophomore Michael Zuffante's (Bloomingdale, Ill.), he had the puck down low and scored on a shot from near post to glove side of Army goalie Jared Dempsey for a 2-1 lead.

Just past the midway point of the period, Bentley increased its lead to 3-1 when Solovyev blasted in a one-timer from the top of the right point. Sophomore Brendan Hamblet (Hopkinton, Mass.) fed him a cross-ice pass from the left face-off circle that Solovyev fired past Dempsey for his 3^rd goal of the season.

Army inched closer with an extra-attacker goal by Dominic Franco with 48 seconds remaining to make the score 3-2, but an empty net goal from Santerno finished it off as Bentley secured the 4-2 win.

Bentley's best scoring chance of the 1^st period came from freshman Will Garin (Mound, Minn.) with about two minutes remaining in the period. On a move across the crease he got Dempsey on the ground but just couldn't lift the puck of Dempsey's pads as he made the save.

Shots were even 9-9 in the opening 20 minutes, and neither team converted on the power play.

The 2^nd period saw both teams score. Bentley struck first on Zuffante's second goal of the series at the 3:12 mark. Solovyev had the assist with a pass from the point to Zuffante down low that he redirected past Dempsey for the goal.

But just 36 seconds later, Army responded with a power play goal from forward Colin Bilek, who tipped in a shot in front of the net from defenseman Alex Wilkinson, which came with the Black Knights on a 5-on-3 advantage.

Falcons goalie Aidan Pelino (Oakville, Ontario) made 15 saves to earn the win.

Following the Thanksgiving holiday, Bentley returns to face Boston College on Friday at 3:00 pm on ESPN3, then they face Holy Cross on Saturday night in Worcester.
