Springfield, Mass. - Bentley and AIC battled to a 4-4 tie on Thursday night in a back and forth game that featured three ties. The Falcon goals came from defenseman Alexey Solovyev (Moscow, Russia) in the first period, defenseman Tanner Jago (Brandon, Manitoba) and sophomore Michael Zuffante (Bloomingdale, Ill.) in the second, and freshman Brendan Walkom (Pittsburgh, Pa.) in the 3^rd.

Solovyev gave Bentley the lead 8:26 into the 1^st period with snipe from the right face-off circle that beat AIC goalie Stefano Durante high and to the stick side. Center Drew Callin (Middleton, Wisc.) brought the puck into the offensive zone and fed a pass over to Solovyev to his right, who then unleased a wrist shot that gave Durante no chance. The goal was Solovyev's second of the series.

AIC would tie it on a goal by Chris Theodore at 13:02 of the 1^st period, but Bentley would do damage in the second period with two goals from Jago and Zuffante on the power play.

Jago's goal came off a face-off win by Luke Santerno (Smithers, B.C.) from the right face-off dot. He played the puck back to Jago, who blasted it past Durante from the blue line for a 2-1 lead at 10:42. Jago was then involved in Zuffante's power play goal at 13:30. After taking a centering pass from Callin, he put a puck on net that Zuffante tipped in for the goal.

Bentley went into the 3^rd period up 3-1, but AIC erased the lead in the first 6:24 on goals by Shawn McBride and Blake Christensen. But just over three minutes after Christensen's tying goal, Walkom put Bentley back in front with his first career goal. Defensemen Brett Orr (Elkhorn, Manitoba) set the goal up with a slap shot from the blue line that took a deflection off Sam Kauppila (Gurnee, Ill), and Walkom deposited the rebound at 9:56

AIC though would tie it on the power play from Hugo Reinhardt at 12:15 to make it a 4-4 game, and that's how it ended.

Bentley is now off for the weekend, but will return home to Bentley Arena on Oct. 26 to host Holy Cross.
