PITTSBURGH, Pa. – Freshman Luke Santerno (Smithers, B.C.) scored an extra-attacker goal with 1:21 left in regulation to help Bentley rally for a 3-3 tie with Robert Morris on Saturday afternoon.

The goal was Santerno's second of the night and came with Bentley's net open to tie the score 3-3. One night after RMU scored an extra-attacker goal late in the third period to force overtime, Bentley turned the tide to earn a point.

The goal got started with a shot from the right corner by freshman defenseman Charlie Marchand (Calgary, Alberta) that was saved by Colonials goalie Francis Marotte. Santerno was positioned in front of the net to get control of the rebound, and flipped the puck past Marotte for the tying goal with 1:21 remaining, which came just seconds after the extra-attacker came on the ice.

Bentley had a power play chance one minute into OT after a tripping goal on RMU, but it was the Colonials that had the best scoring chance. Center Brandon Watt had a breakaway chance, but was denied by goalie Jayson Argue (Swan River, Manitoba) with about three minutes left to preserve the tie.

Argue finished the night with 27 saves, while Marotte stopped 31 Bentley shots.

Bentley got off to the perfect start as team captain Kyle Schmidt (Menomonee Falls, Wisc.) netted his 8^th goal of the season just 30 seconds into the contest. Schmidt made a steal in the neutral zone and skated in on goal all alone. He then beat Marotte with a backhander to give Bentley the early lead.

Both teams finished the opening period with six shots, and each had a power play opportunity.

Another goal wasn't scored until 6:55 of the second period, off the stick of RMU's Nick Prkusic. Sophomore Luke Lynch set the goal up with a cross-ice pass from the left face-off circle to Prkusic who was positioned on the far-post, which allowed him to redirect Lynch's pass into the back of the net.

The game wasn't tied for long though, as Santerno scored Bentley's second power play goal of the weekend. Center Drew Callin (Middleton, Wisc.) got the goal started with a shot from the point that was saved by Marotte, but Santerno was there to deposit the rebound to give Bentley a 2-1 lead at the 9:54 mark.

About two and a half minutes later, RMU tied the game again as senior Timmy Moore scored his second goal of the weekend with a shot that went top shelf from the near side.

The game stayed tied 2-2 deep into the third period, where the Colonials took their first lead of the game from senior Brady Ferguson with 6:29 left in regulation.

Santerno's late heroics though forced overtime, the ninth time this season Bentley has been to OT.

The Falcons return home this coming weekend to face Canisius in the second to last series at the JAR.
