HANOVER, N.H. – Bentley notched its sixth straight win by beating Dartmouth of the ECAC 5-1 on Saturday night in a non-conference game at Thompson Arena. Five different players scored, and goaltender Aidan Pelino (Oakville, Ontario) made 30 saves.

The six straight wins are a new program Division I record, eclipsing the previous record of five, which happened twice before in the 2008-09 and 2014-15 seasons.

The game was essentially decided midway through the second period when the Falcons erupted for three goals in a span of just 1:10, as they turned a 1-0 lead into a 4-0 lead.

Captain Kyle Schmidt (Menomonee Falls, Wisc.) got the run started with a power play goal at the 10:05 mark. Junior center Drew Callin (Middleton, Wisc.) set the goal up with a cross-ice pass from the left face-off circle to the right, where Schmidt one-timed the pass for the goal. That was Bentley's ninth power play goal in the last six games.

Just 19 seconds later, Callin scored to make it 3-0. Bentley forced a Dartmouth turnover behind its own net, sophomore Matt Riggleman (Milford, Mich.) pounced on the loose puck and hit Callin out in front for the goal. That extended the scoring streaks to seven games for both players.

51 seconds after that goal, sophomore Jake Kauppila (Gurnee, Ill.) snapped off a wrist shot from the point that beat Dartmouth goalie Adrian Clark low and to the glove side to give Bentley a 4-0 lead.

Bentley closed things out in the third period to secure the win. Pelino extended his personal winning streak to six. He had his shutout bid ended with 6:25 left in the 3^rd period when Dartmouth's Tim Shoup scored to make the score 4-1. The Falcon penalty kill then erased a 5-on-3 power play for Dartmouth that lasted 1:26 to keep the lead intact.

Freshman Luke Santerno (Smithers, B.C.) added an empty-net goal from center ice with 10 seconds left for Bentley's 5^th goal.

The Falcons jumped out to a 1-0 lead with just 55 seconds left in the first period on defenseman Tanner Jago's (Brandon, Manitoba) second goal in as many games. Jago's slap shot blast from just inside the blue line got through traffic in front of the net, aided in part by Santerno's screen.

Bentley will go into the winter break on a six game winning streak and an overall record of 7-7-3. The team's next game is not until Jan. 5 at home to Northeastern.
