The Matchup: After this past weekend's series with Holy Cross concluded on Saturday night, the Bentley hockey team is back in action just three nights later when they visit AIC on Tuesday night at the Mass Mutual Center in Springfield for a 7:05 puck drop.

Last Time Out: The Falcons dropped both games to the Crusaders out in Worcester. They dropped the first game in overtime 4-3, then by a 5-0 score in the second contest. Friday's game was a back and forth affair that saw the game tied three different times. Captain Kyle Schmidt got Bentley on the board with a power play goal just 1:50 into the game, before Holy Cross scored the next two goals to lead 2-1 after the first period. Defenseman Tanner Jago tied the game at two with a goal 2:07 into the 2^nd period, but Holy Cross took the lead right back on a goal by Mitch Collett at the 8:47 mark. In the 3^rd period, freshman Michael Zuffante scored his first career goal at 4:58 to tie the game 3-3. Neither team could break the deadlock the rest of the way, but the Crusaders won it 52 seconds into overtime on a goal by Brett Mulcahy.

Falcons goalie Jayson Argue was stellar with 42 saves on the night. That was the 5^th time in his career he's made 40+ saves in a game.

Familiar Foe: These two teams played just two weeks ago on Oct. 10 at the JAR in Bentley's season-opener, in a game that ended in a 3-3 tie. Sophomore Jake Kauppila had two goals for the Falcons. He scored the game's first goal just 1:43 into the opening period, and also netted the tying goal with 2:04 left in regulation as they trailed 3-2. Jonathan Desbiens had the other goal for Bentley at 19:53 of the 2^nd period. Argue had another strong game in net with 33 saves.

Both teams had success on the power play. Two of Bentley's goals were scored on the PP, and all three of AIC's goals were on the man-advantage.

Looking at Bentley So Far: Through this early point of the season, six different players are tied for the team lead in points at two. Kauppila's two goals led the team, and center Drew Callin and defenseman Brett Orr both have a team high two assists.

Three of the team's nine goals scored so far have been on the power play.

Seven of the team's nine freshman have made their debuts so far. Zuffante, who scored his first goal on Saturday, and defensemen Charlie Marchand and Matt Lombardozzi, have each played in all three games.

Looking at AIC: The Yellow Jackets pulled off a big upset over the weekend when they defeated then No. 11 ranked Penn State 3-2 in overtime on Friday night. Right winger Darius Davidson scored the winner 3:47 into OT. Center Bryant Christian scored the tying goal with 8:01 left in regulation when they trailed 3-2. Goalie Zack Skog made 29 saves on the night.

The Yellow Jackets have been busy thus far early in the season, with their seven games played tied with three other teams for the most played in Division I so far. Two defensemen, sophomore Patrik Demel and freshman Brennan Kapcheck lead the team in scoring, with Demel at 3-3-6 and Kapcheck at 2-4-6. Skog has started five games in goal, including the first game against Bentley, and senior Alex Murray has started twice.
